1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how the Insight Note Chrome extension ("Extension"), provided by Coders Brew LLC ("Coders Brew," "we," "us," or "our"), handles information.
2. Information Handled by the Extension
To provide summarization features, the Extension may handle:
- Locally stored data in your browser: API key, summary preferences, available model list, and your last summary output for the current page.
- Page data when you request a summary: page text, page title, and page URL from the active tab.
- Support communications: information you choose to include when you email us for help.
3. How Data Is Processed
When you run a summary, your browser sends the request directly to the Google Gemini API using your provided API key. This request may include page content and prompt instructions needed to generate a summary.
Coders Brew does not currently route these summarization requests through Coders Brew-owned servers.
4. Third-Party Processing (Google)
Your use of the Gemini API is subject to Google's own terms and privacy practices. Please review Google's policies before using the Extension: Google Privacy Policy.
5. What We Do Not Intentionally Do
- We do not intentionally sell personal data to data brokers.
- We do not intentionally build cross-site advertising profiles from your summarization activity.
- We do not intentionally store summarized page content on Coders Brew servers as part of normal Extension operation.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Data stored through Chrome local storage remains on your device until removed by you (for example, by clearing extension storage, uninstalling the Extension, or resetting your browser profile).
Support emails may be retained for operational, security, and legal purposes.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures for the Extension and support process. However, no software, storage mechanism, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be fully secure.
8. Children's Privacy
The Extension is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support channels, contact us and we will review and address the request consistent with applicable law.
9. International Transfers and Legal Requests
Third-party providers (including Google) may process data in multiple countries. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, enforce terms, or protect rights, safety, and security.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted at this URL and reflected by an updated "Last updated" date.
